Built by a parent. For your child.

Stop your child from wasting 80% of their study time.

graviton.dev finds the exact gaps in your child's understanding and teaches them the shortest path from confusion to mastery — built from First Principles by a software architect who refused to let his 4th-grader fail the system that was failing him.

Your child's path to mastery

The origin

I built this because the system was failing my son.

It started with a Tuesday-night homework session. My 4th-grader, Michael, was on his 38th worksheet of subject-verb agreement. He got the first 35 right without thinking. He got the last 3 wrong — the same way he'd gotten them wrong all year. The system had spent six months teaching him what he already knew, and zero minutes teaching him what he didn't.

As an engineer, the diagnosis was obvious. Schools optimize for batch throughput, not individual mastery. Worksheets are cheap to assign and worthless to learn from. The 5 problems that would actually move him forward were buried under the 35 that wouldn't.

"So I did what I'd do for any broken system. I rebuilt it for one user. The user happened to be my kid."

I built a tiny path engine: assess, find the gap, teach to the gap, retest, move on. In four months, he went from the bottom quartile of his class to reading two grade levels above. By the end of the year, three other parents at his school were asking for access. By the start of the next, eleven were.

I'm releasing this because what worked for one kid should work for thousands. I'm still the only one writing the path engine. Michael is still the QA team.

The difference

Most study time is spent on what your child already knows.

Traditional homework is a one-size-fits-all volume game. The optimal path is the opposite — a sharp, personal route to the exact concepts that matter today.

Traditional study
graviton.dev
You re-do the 40 problems you already understand to get to the 5 you don't.
You see only the 5 that close your specific gap.
The textbook orders concepts by chapter, not by what you actually need next.
The engine orders concepts by your current understanding and routes the shortest path forward.
"Wrong" is a red mark with no diagnosis of why.
"Not yet" decomposes into the missing prerequisite — and teaches that.
Friday's quiz tells you what was memorized, not what was understood.
Spaced re-tests measure whether mastery still holds 30 days later.
Hours of practice, hard to measure return.
Mastery-per-minute, plotted on a curve you can actually see.
"Every minute we save is a minute returned to childhood."

Slice: Subject-Verb Agreement and prerequisites

Engine ready
Step 2 of 3 · Diagnosis

Based on your answers, you already understand: nouns, verbs, articles, plural forms, and singular/plural distinction.

The single missing concept blocking the rest of subject-verb agreement is how grammatical "number" propagates from subject to verb.

The optimal route to mastery is 2 lessons, not the 11 a textbook would assign.

Questions

Things parents ask before subscribing.

How is this different from Khan Academy, IXL, or Duolingo?
Khan Academy is a video library — excellent content, no path engine. IXL is a worksheet generator — high volume, low diagnosis. Duolingo is a habit app, not a learning system. graviton.dev is a path engine that diagnoses gaps and routes the shortest course to mastery; the lessons are a means, not the product.
How is my child's data handled?
We're COPPA and FERPA aligned. We never sell data, never share with advertisers, and you can export or delete every piece of your child's data with one click from the Parent Portal. The full privacy policy is in the footer.
What's your stance on screen time?
Sessions are bounded. The workspace politely suggests stopping at a good point after 15-25 minutes for younger learners. We do not run streaks, leaderboards, or notifications designed to maximize time-on-app. The point is mastery, not engagement.
My child is in middle school / high school. Is this still relevant?
Yes. The English module covers grades 4 through 12 today, and the platform's design discipline is "respect a 9-year-old, respect a 19-year-old." The interface scales without becoming childish.
What if we pause the subscription?
Your child's full mastery state is preserved indefinitely. When you return, the engine picks up exactly where you left off. One-click pause for one month is built into account settings.
How do you handle feature requests?
Flight and Family subscribers get a direct channel to the founder. Most weeks I read every message. Most months something a parent asked for ships.
